Eddie Frank was born and raised in Africa. When he was a small boy, he dreamed of driving across Africa. In 1976, at the age of 24, he was working as a professional photographer in Los Angeles. While having a beer with some friends, he talked about his childhood dream of driving across Africa. They bet him $100 that he'd never do it.
Six months later Eddie was taking two Landrovers and a dozen passengers across the Sahara Desert. Tusker Trail was born. On the trip Eddie climbed Kilimanjaro for the first time. Since then, he has made 34 crossings of the Sahara desert, and climbed Kilimanjaro 29 times. And he's still waiting to collect his $100.
Since the '70's, as an adventure travel pioneer, Eddie has established Tusker Trail as one of the most renowned expedition companies in Africa. Almost three decades later, Eddie guarantees true adventure in every Tusker trip.
