Fly from the US to Sydney.

Day 2-3 - Fri.Sat. Nov 29-30
Morning arrival in Sydney.  We have arranged  a variety of excursions around the beautiful city during these 2 days. Among other sites, you will see the amazing Opera House, take a boat tour of the spectacular harbor....and more. Overnight at our hotel.

Day 4 - Sun. Dec 1
Early morning flight to Adelaide. After checking into our hotel, you'll join us on a private tour of the delightful Barossa Valley, one of Australia's finest wine-growing regions. Overnight at our hotel.

Day 5 - Mon. Dec 2
After breakfast, we drive to the Glenelg harbor in Adelaide, and board our yacht, the extremely comfortable "Temptation".  This twin-hulled yacht is 55 ft. long and 30 ft. wide.  It is an aluminum, high performance sailing catamaran, powered by two 37.5 hp diesel engines. It is the newest and the most stable ocean- yacht in South Australia. The captain and owner is the very likeable Ozzie, Steve Waites.  Captain Waites will be our host, and the extremely comfortable "Temptation" will be our home and primary transport for the next six days to and from the eclipse site.

After settling in, we set sail for Wedge Island.   There's great fishing and snorkeling here.  The crew will dive for crayfish and abalone for our dinner.
(Great seafood!)

Day 6 - Tue. Dec 3
We sail to Flinders Island, further up the spectacular South Coast.  There's more great snorkeling, swimming and fishing in this area.  While sailing, we'll catch some fresh fish for dinner and enjoy the great meal  with a fine Australian wine.  We sail for our Eclipse Site just outside of Ceduna.

Day 7 - Tue. Dec 4
Eclipse Day.  We arrive at Ceduna in the early morning, and disembark for a visit of this small town.  You will feel the excitement, as thousands of people flock the streets in preparation for the eclipse.  While in Ceduna, we will meet up with Alex Reid, a friend of Eddie Frank who lives in the area. Alex is renowned for her work in promoting Aboriginal fine art throughout Australia. She will talk to us about Aboriginal Art, and will offer us a private viewing of some rare paintings at a local art gallery.

We go to our private site out of town,  right on the eclipse shadow's centerline. We have located our site 6 miles inland to avoid the possible marine cloud layer.  We'll meet Laurance Doyle and the rest of the "landlubbers" on the "LAND" trip.    As the eclipse is at the end of the day, we'll have plenty of time to set up our gear for the viewing.

After the eclipse, we set sail once again for Neptune Island

Day 8 - Tue. Dec 5
We arrive
at Neptune island and spend the day exploring this deserted island and the lighthouse settlement.

Day 9 - Tue. Dec 6
We leave Neptune island, and enjoy our our last full day sailing.  If we're lucky, a white shark sighting might be possible.

Day 10 - Tue. Dec 7
We arrive in Adelaide in the morning. After getting your land legs, we head for the airport, and fly back home ......or, if you'd like to see more of Australia, we have planned some exciting extensions:  Ayers Rock; the Great Barrier Reef and the Australian Outback.
