In the northwest part of Botswana, the Okavango River empties into the Kalahari Desert sands, creating the largest inland river delta in the world. The Okavango Delta is home to a large amount of wildlife. Its clear waters and myriad small islands are also home to an astounding variety of birds, plants, and smaller species of animals. As you glide down one of the tributaries of the Okavango, you notice the delta opening up, revealing its hidden treasures. Crocodiles, hippos, bathing elephants and a variety of water birds hover at every bend of the river. On the banks, red lechwe, buffalo, kudu and the rare sitatunga stop to watch the spectacle of "human" animals passing by in their dugout canoes. Accommodation is at a luxury-tented camp.
