WILDLIFE SAFARI
6 DAY - TARANGIRE

Wildlife Safari     Arusha National Park

Zanzibar     FAQ     Safari Photo Gallery     Trip Extensions

Schedule this Tarangire safari any time of year. The best months for this safari are September through November. Click here to view the December through August itinerary, which includes Serengeti National Park.

DAY 1 - LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we load up our 4x4 safari vehicles, and head off for our first day in the bush. Lake Manyara National Park is very different from the other parks with its diversity of habitats. It is home to the unusual tree-bound lions and the elusive forest primate, the blue monkey, among many other creatures. The Lake supports a large array of bird life, such as yellow-billed storks, white-necked cormorants, pelicans, and Egyptian geese. We overnight at a Safari lodge or camp.
(Lunch & Dinner)

DAY 2/3 - NGORONGORO CRATER

The awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater is a 110 square-mile volcanic caldera, which collapsed two million years ago. It is encircled by 2000-ft. sheer walls. We drive down the narrow track to the crater floor, now a lush verdant paradise. The crater swarms with 30,000 head of wild game, stalked by great prides of lion, jackal, hyena and leopard. Ngorongoro is one of the few places left on earth where you can see the almost extinct black rhinos in their natural habitat. We overnight at a Safari lodge, or camp.
(All Meals)

DAY 4/5 - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we descend the Ngorongoro Highlands, and drive to the Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Tarangire is one of Tanzania's finest national parks.

This park is renowned for its large population of elephants. During our game drives, we'll be on the lookout for giraffe, warthog, buffalo, gazelle and lion. Night game drives are also a specialty, as you search for the nocturnal animals, like aardwolf, genet, civet, mongoose, antbear and honeybadger. Overnight at a safari lodge or camp.
(All Meals)

DAY 6 - TARANGIRE / FLY HOME

After breakfast, you will enjoy game drives with a picnic lunch. You will return to Arusha to pick up your stored climbing gear then we'll set you up with a dayroom to freshen up before your night flight back home.

After dinner you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport, to meet the KLM flight.
