THE BEST MEDICALLY TRAINED GUIDES ON KILIMANJARO
|
Eddie Frank, Tusker's founder, is a high altitude expert, and Wilderness First Responder. A few years ago he teamed up with a wilderness medical instructor to design an 8-day High Altitude First Responder course - specifically for Tusker's crack guides. Each year our 18 guides MUST pass this intensive course, led by Eddie Frank. Eddie's vision has been to build the safest and most reliable company on Mount Kilimanjaro. And he believes the only way to do that is to ensure the safety and well-being of his clients.

33-YEARS of LEADING KILIMANJARO CLIMBS
Eddie Frank, Tusker's founder, has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro 42 times since his first climb in 1977. He continues to lead our large climbs. By doing so, Eddie maintains close contact with our ground operation in Tanzania and keeps informed about local conditions.
He has personally handpicked each of our expert Tanzanian guides for their leadership qualities and group skills. Eddie is a medical professional, and trains the guides once a year in an intensive 8-day High Altitude Medical course. Your safest and best choice is to climb with the most experienced company on Mount Kilimanjaro.
Eddie's vision has been to build Tusker into the most reputable climbing operation on Mount Kilimanjaro. We believe he's done it. And so do the hundreds of people whom we lead to the summit every year.

The logistics and details that go into organizing your actual Kilimanjaro climb are vast and exacting. During thirty-three years of climbing Kilimanjaro, Tusker has assembled its crack Tanzanian team whose only job is to plan and execute a perfect climb.

From ensuring that your camp gear is immaculate, planning your superb meals, to organizing the logistics of a possible evacuation, our crew is a well-honed machine. You'll be amazed.

BEST CLIMBER-TO-GUIDE RATIO
All other companies use one head guide regardless of the group size. With smaller groups our climber-to-guide ration is 2-1. With larger groups our climber-to-guide ratio is 5-to-1.
This makes your Kilimanjaro climb much safer and much more enjoyable.
