MONGOLIA IS

THE HEART OF ADVENTURE

Explore the exciting Altai mountains. Learn to ride a horse like a nomadic. Hike the banks of glacial rivers. Immerse yourself in an ancient nomadic culture.
Trekking with the Mongolian nomads is an adventure that will stir your soul. The landscape is wild and untamed and will ignite your spirit.

Tusker Trail’s founding guides, Eddie and Amy Frank crafted this journey to fully immerse you in Mongolia’s hidden world. Eddie leads the trek with our Mongolian guide and crew, and together they reveal a magical faraway place.

We explore a wilderness area of 386,000 square miles, encompassing the Altai Mountains and two of the largest river basins in the world.

Glacial rivers flow from Mongolia’s highest peaks in the country’s far west. We trek through a region marked by massive peaks, glacial river valleys and nomadic families in their traditional tents.

Along the way we set up a magical camp on the banks of lakes and rivers. Travel is on foot and horseback, with Bactrian camels carrying our gear.

You can hike it, ride a horse – or both. If you’ve never ridden a horse, Eddie will teach you to ride like the wind.

A WORLD CLASS

ADVENTURE

The thrill of hiking in a pristine world or riding a horse alongside the nomads is so transformative that you’ll leave wanting more. Explore a wilderness area of 386,000 square miles, encompassing the Altai mountain ranges and two of the largest river basins in the world, is enough adventure for even the most discerning of travelers.
We trace the Tsagaan Gol river, crossing broad valleys, mountain passes and lush tundra to the river’s ancient source – the massive Potanin Glacier, which lies on the border of Mongolia, Russia, and China.
