As you trek shoulder to shoulder with wounded Special Forces veterans and Gold Star family members, you build a tangible understanding of their deep character and the challenges they face on a daily basis.
The Kilimanjaro Climb for Valor is a healing climb that supports wounded Special Operations soldiers, and Special Operations Gold Star family members whose loved ones have died in the line of duty.
This climb has immense therapeutic value for the soldiers and the Gold Star families, as they battle the emotional, mental and physical challenges of their recovery.
On this adventure, you'll discover a lot about who they are; and no small amount about yourself. The shared challenge of this climb is the tru foundation of genuine team spirit.
As part of the climb preparation, you are asked to fundraise for the Duskin & Stephens Foundation
, a non-profit organization (501c3) run by active-duty Green Berets. Their mission is to support the United States Special Operations Community with direct assistance to families of fallen Operators; provide healing programs designed to combat the effects of PTS, TBI, loss of a loved one; and fund youth scholarships for children of active-duty members of the community.
