Our friend and colleague, infectious disease specialist, Dr. Michael Callahan, has climbed Kilimanjaro 5 times with us in the past and has joined forces with Eddie Frank to train the US Special forces at high altitude.

Dr. Callahan assured us recently that a vaccine will be available in April/May 2021, making it safe to travel overseas in summer 2021. So, it's time you started making trekking plans before the mad rush.

And by the way, Callahan, as we call him, is a kickass mountain climber.

The well-being of our trekkers and crew is Tusker Trail's primary focus. This can be seen by how much we emphasize the professional medical training of our elite guiding team.

With the advent of COVID-19 we know that you are being extra cautious in planning your future trips. Without a doubt, you have been wondering when it will be safe to go trekking overseas. As we run our own operation on Kilimanjaro, we have lots of flexibility. You can postpone your trip up to 14 days before your departure, with no fee.

By postponing, you are not only keeping your adventure alive, but you're supporting the hundreds of phenomenal Tusker crew and staff who rely on our travelers to support their families during these tough times.

We will work with you to reschedule your trip, without any additional cost, at the same price you paid, regardless of new trip prices.

Our Lake Tahoe staff is working remotely, and we're working hard to keep your trekking dreams very much alive. Our staff in Tanzania is also staying busy, repairing equipment and getting ready for climbs.
