You will be automatically enrolled for emergency air evacuation coverage with RIPCORD, Tusker’s air evacuation company. We have negotiated very reasonable premiums for Tusker clients. These premiums vary according to the length of coverage you require for your trip, and will be reflected on your Tusker statement.
The cost is per person, double occupancy and quoted in US dollars. The land cost does not include the evacuation coverage premium. This is nominal, and will be reflected on your statement. National park permit fees can and sometimes do change without notice. While we attempt to book into the hotels of the itinerary, these may change, subject to availability.
The Patagonia Trek includes an airport transfer to/from Puerto Natales airport (PNT.) The airlines servicing PNT, such as LATAM and Sky run several flights per week to PNT. However, as we plan our trips years in advance, it is not possible to know the exact airline schedules, which change every so often.
In the event the schedule has change, and if it is not possible for you to arrange your flights directly into PNT, you can fly into Punta Arenas (PUQ) instead, and we will arrange the 3-hour vehicle transfer from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales for you. The cost of this transfer is $125 one way, or $225 round trip per person. If you fly into Punta Arenas please plan to arrive prior to 3pm to accommodate an earlier transfer.
We price our trips according to the number of full-price trip members. Tusker Trail staff, and other discounted trip members are excluded from the count for this purpose. We invoice you at the highest tier price (the smallest sized group for which we can run the trip) until final payment is due. If the group size increases before the trip departs, thus reducing the trip price, the price will drop and we will refund the difference to you.
Single accommodation is not available at the Refugios during the trek. Single accommodation is subject to availability at the Pampa Lodge, and at hotels in Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, El Calfate and El Chalten. You may either request single accommodation at the lodge and hotels, or choose to be matched up to share accommodation with another group member. If you request your own room, or if you are forced to room alone due to an odd-numbered group, we will charge you a "hotel single supplement." If you are forced to room alone at any of the hotels, lodges or Refugios while on the trek due to an odd-numbered group, we will charge you a "trek single supplement". Where single rooms are not available, we will match you up with another group member of the same gender.
