March 31: Arrival in Merida - Yucatan
When you arrive in Merida in the Yucatan and transfer to the Mayaland Hotel, you feel the magic and wonder of the ancient Maya people. Built in 1923, it was the first hotel in Chichén Itzá. Mayaland is a creation of Old Yucatan, built and operated by the original owners and their family.

April 1: Merida - Yucatan
- Ek’Balam, Cenote Maya, Chichén Itzá
We visit the archaeological site of Ek’Balam, an ancient Mayan city which dates back 2,000 years. It wasn’t until the late 1980’s when the site was mapped. This archaeological site has been recently restored and is mesmerizing. We then head out to explore the majestic Cenote Maya, a deep limestone pool, created when an underground cavern collapse. It has the largest dome in the Yucatan Peninsula, and you can take a refreshing swim in this natural jewel. Lastly, we discover the heart of the Mayan culture, by taking part in an authentic blessing ceremony and enjoying a traditional buffet prepared with organic vegetables.
